This backplane can accommodate up to nine NovaCarts boards, each with an extension board. Power is supplied via backplane contacts, which also provides a connection to the fail rails. In addition, the Gigabit Ethernet signals for communication between the boards and the control PC are routed via the backplane, with trigger lines providing synchronization between the boards. The backplane also controls the fan depending on the ambient temperature.
The NovaCarts Backplane NC-BPM4400 can operate in both standalone mode without a real-time system as well as in an HiL simulator, and is also compatible with all NovaCarts products.
